Task1: Proposal
INSTRUCTIONS
The objective for this project is to develop a comprehensive proposal for a redesign of an existing website. The proposal should demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate a website’s design and functionality, and to propose design solutions that enhance user experience, aesthetics, and performance.
Requirements is to select an existing website which feels has several design and UX issue and prepare a detailed proposal for its redesign. The proposal should consist of; current website design, functionality, redesign goals, target audience, design proposal, and UX enhancement.
Rationale:
Firstly, I wanted to envision a god wireframe design by coming up with a few sketches. I took 3 pages from the website, that is the home page, profile page, and client’s charter page. The layout should be similar but with better adjusted placement of the features that should bring comfort for the users readability. The first important feature of the home page should consist a ‘contact us’ as a footer. Which should include the upright corner buttons, location, and the survey & helpdesk icons. Then the replacement of the order for each segments as it should signify a hierarchy importance to the user. This also includes the folder design in the right side of the screen, which I am planning to place it on the left side for a better reading placement and also remove the title name and replace it with a button (further detail on the wireframe design).
Then comes the profile page, although the profile page seems meaningless in a lot of websites for a user, it is important for the website’s acknowledgment. So I plan to make the segments ‘vision&mission, objective, and logo’ more engaging and aesthetic pleasing for the user as the content serves no real purpose for the target audience, thus making it different than the rest of the pages. As well as making the entire page one scrolling up&down system navigation of all the content of the page. While also planning to add a subheading to indicate a navigation to each segments of the page. The same plan goes for the client’s charter page.
Then comes the color scheme and font design. I plan to make the colors having to do with the logo, as I’ve seen that there were no use of the color yellow or black in the current website design. So I plan to search for a good color palette scheme that can complement or highlight the color yellow as it can link to the logo and feels like it serves a purpose. And for the font design to be different with the heading and body, and making it comfortable for the user to read well.

FEEDBACK
Good and detailed wireframe. Remove the 'folder' design on the side of the screen when in the making of the prototype, but can maintain in the proposal. The design for the Profile page should be more leaning towards the target audience. Minimize the layout design and simplify the text content as the proposal design is quite too much and overwhelming.
REFLECTION
In the beginning of this project, the finding to redesign an existing bad website was difficult for me to find. I even needed to ask my peers for help in search of a bad website that was not already picked by others. Later on, I decided to search through government websites instead, and in my luck, there were many. When looking through the Malaysian websites with my dad, he could not stop criticizing the bad designs on every webpage. After thoroughly analyzing the website I picked, I realized there were many flaws in the design. Envisioning a better one was also tricky. I started looking through what can be considered a decent web layout. The problem was a lot of them are way above my skill level. So I started simple instead. Beginning with the wireframe, I sketched out the original website's design and layout. Then I figured how to adjust and modernize it in a fresh-looking design instead. In the end, I figured out what and how to redesign and readjust the contents, layouts, color, and typography. This project has helped me in the past 6 weeks understand what makes a bad or good website, and that it encourages me into making one too.
