Experience:
This module has been quite a work that I had enjoyed throughout the semester. This has been rather an easy subject for me, as I had some prior knowledge and experience on how to do a research methodology during my high school years. But with the mix of design and its specialization being input together has been really an enjoyable experience for me. This had also been a nervous situation during data collection as I had hoped to find the right people that fall under my topic, but in the end, I had felt relieved to find the right audience and an expert.
Observation:
During my observation throughout this semester, I had come to notice how much workload there needs to be input for research, especially for a design research. Learning about the niche and how a topic chosen needs to be specific was something I was not what I was used to at all in doing research. Thus, finding a niche topic was a challenge in the beginning, then came the struggle in trying to find research papers to help with my research questions as it had been an old show. Alongside with finding people who had watched the show or are a fan of it.
Findings:
What I found throughout this whole module was that time was of the essence, and trust was of the utmost importance in doing the methodology. As I had only 6 weeks in doing the data collection and finding people, I had been anxious in predicting the outcome as it had been a challenge to find the right audience. But then comes trust. During this semester I had come to trust the process of my idea of the topic, although I had doubts since its an old show, I wanted to bring light of this show towards the academic learning of its environment storytelling. And in the end, I’ve managed to see it through.
